The revitalized Boardwalk offers great shopping, dining and views of one of the East Coast's most beautiful beaches. First developed in the 1880s as a resort town, Asbury Park, boasts a wealth of Victorian homes.  The beacon of the beachfront is the Beaux Arts style Convention Hall (Above), which bestrides the Boardwalk at the northern end. Asbury Park launched Bruce Springsteen into the world, and has remained a music mecca with concerts in Convention Hall (capacity 4000) The Paramount Theater (Capacity 2500) and the legendary Stone Pony all year round.

Just 10 min walk from home is the Atlantic Ocean, Boardwalk and deep sandy beaches for which Asbury Park is famous.

Restaurants and retail pavilions line the boardwalk. Shop the Grand Arcade nestled between The Paramount Theater and Convention Hall at 5th avenue.
The boardwalk is punctuated with shopping pavilions, restaurants, a kids water park and mini golf. Opposite the beach at Third Ave is legendary The Stony Pony music venue. Shop antiques downtown on Cookman Ave. NJ transit trains leave hourly from New York Penn Station and arrive in Asbury Park in less than two hours.

Your Hosts

We're both entertainment professionals.  Brad's a TV producer and Seán's an actor, with second careers as responsible landlords.  We've amassed 30+ years of experience renting our beautiful homes in Detroit, Asbury Park and Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

We bought the Big Blue House in 2001 when our daughter was just one and Asbury Park was at the beginning of its renaissance.   A time when the sunniest summer day would entice a mere 30 or so people to the our Beach. Nowadays the City attracts one million beachgoers each summer.  We've watched Asbury Park blossom from dereliction and neglect to the exciting beach resort town you see today.

We raised Grace in this home and gardens and on the 4th Ave beach!  For a time we produced annual events that brought people from New York and Philadelphia to experience the special charm of our little City by the Sea. Many stayed. Buying, renovating and investing in the dream we all had to return Asbury Park to her former glory; a crown jewel of the Jersey Shore.
